The purpose of OSHA training courses is to empower your employees to recognize and prevent hazards on the job site. They are necessary for promoting a safe and healthy work environment, and in some states, it is a requirement before work can begin. Performance Safety offers both 10-hour and 30-hour courses.
States that have recently made the Occupational Safety and Training Administration (OSHA) training a requirement for specific construction work contracts include but are not limited to Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island.
The 10-hour course places special emphasis on hazard identification, hazard avoidance, control measures, and prevention. It is taught using 100 percent live online instruction methods and requires two full days to complete.
This personal and interactive training is intended to orient employees about the OSHA standards and covers safety and health hazards workers may face on various construction sites. It covers several essential topics, including:
- An introduction to OSHA
- Preventing falls and electrocution
- Identifying struck-by and caught-in hazards
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- The safe use of hand and power tools
- Scaffolding safety
- Material handling
- Health hazards
